Leona Pavlicek, 90, Dickinson, ND, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 24 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jim Braaten, celebrating. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 12 noon – 9 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Ray Jilek.

Leona Fisher was born January 27, 1914, in Dunn County to Lyle and Anna (Dvorak) Fisher. She attended Versippi Consolidated School to the sixth grade and finished the last two years in Dunn County Country School receiving her certificate of graduation. Leona married Tony H. Pavlicek on November 14, 1934. They farmed until 1974 when they moved to 520 2nd Ave. E in Dickinson, where Leona lived independently through December, 2003. She was a life long member of St. Wenceslaus Parish where she was baptized, confirmed and received her first holy communion. Leona was also an active member in the St. Ann’s Altar Society of St. Wenceslaus Parish. Leona loved gardening, cooking, baking, politics, sewing and altering for others and herself. She also cherished her many animals on the farm especially her chickens and ducks.

Leona is survived by: one daughter, Audrey (Jim) Kostelecky, Bismarck; one son, Gordy (Linda), Dickinson; six grandchildren, Jim (Kerry) Kostelecky, Cindy (Kerry Paulson) Kostelecky, Nancy (Greg) Sowards, Sean (Kelly) Lackner, Lisa Pavlicek, Neil (Traci) Pavlicek; nine great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jackson and Tucker Lackner, Gabe, Savannah and Elizabeth Sowards, Seth and Jasmine Pavlicek and Henry Paulson; two sisters, Emma Kadrmas, Dickinson and Claudia (George) Thomas, Thousand Oaks, Calif; one brother, Charles Fisher, Dickinson. She was preceded in death by: brother, Clarence; parents, Lyle and Anna Fisher and husband, Tony H. Pavlicek.

Leona Pavlicek, 90, Dickinson, died April 21, 2004, at a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT today, April 24, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.

She is survived by one daughter, Audrey Kostelecky, Bismarck; one son, Gordy, Dickinson; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Kadrmas, Dickinson, and Claudia Thomas, Thousand Oaks, Calif; and one brother, Charles Fisher, Dickinson. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson).

     Mary was born on 17 December 1885 at Crimea, Ukraine, Russia. She was the daughter of Isidore Fisher and Anna Kolar. Mary Fisher married Anton (Anthony) Lisko on 18 January 1905 at Crimea, Ukraine, Russia. Mary died 2 May 1959 at Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA, at age 73.
     Mary immigrated to America on 14 December 1905. Mary and her infant son arrived at Ellis Island from Rotterdam aboard the ship "Rotterdam" on December 14, 1905. On the Passenger List their name was spelled Lischka and their place of residence was cited as Sinfropol, Crimea, Ukraine. Mary's husband, Anton, was not allowed to travel to America because of an eye infection. He came a week later, arriving in New York on December 21, 1905.

Funeral Mass for Mary Maupin, 89, of Dickinson will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will be held later this spring at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, New Hradec.

Visitation for Mary will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Mary passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND.

Mary Fisher was born June 1, 1921 in South Heart, the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Ficek) Fisher. She was raised on the family farm near South Heart. Mary lived most of her life in Dickinson where she raised her two daughters, Bonnie and Karen. In 1974, Mary married Joe Maupin and the couple made their home in Bismarck. After Joe passed away, she returned to Dickinson and has made her home here ever since.

Mary enjoyed spending time fishing at the lake with Joe, playing whist, completing word search puzzles and reading. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church was a very important part of her life.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Bonnie (Rod) Rosene, Bismarck and Karen Molnar, Santa Ana, CA; one brother, Joe (Clara) Fisher, Dickinson; one sister, Martha Kadrmas, Dickinson; one sister-in-law, Gladys Fisher, Dickinson; six grandchildren, Joe Froehlich, Dickinson; Al Froehlich, Dickinson; Michele (Jerry) Massee, Bismarck; Frank (Stacy) Molnar, Battlefield, MO; Tonya (Jose) Hernandez, Santa Ana, CA and Cory Molnar, Santa Ana, CA; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a special friend, Betty Frank, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Anna Fisher; her husband, Joe; three brothers, Adolph, Albert and Vincent Fisher; two sisters, Emma Dvorak and Mildred Kadrmas and two infant siblings.

She was buried in 2011 at in Saints Peter and Paul's Cemetery, New Hradec, Dunn County, North Dakota, USA.
