Funeral Mass for Charles A. Fisher, 93, of Dickinson, ND will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2009 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND with Father Jim Braaten celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.

Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7 p.m.



Charlie passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson, ND.

Charles Anton Fisher was born October 4, 1915 in Stark County, ND to Lyle and Anna (Dvorak) Fisher. He grew up on the family farm and attended Versippe School. After school he continued to work on the farm. The family moved to the farm in Dunn County. On October 27, 1936 Charlie and Myra Beatrice (Kubik) were married in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Hradec, ND. He worked for WPA for a short period of time. Charlie worked side by side with his wife and built their farm as they made their living and raised their family on the farm. The couple continued to live on the farm until they retired in 1976 and moved to Dickinson. Charlie continued to help on the farm and enjoyed his trips there, especially during the harvest season, as this was his favorite time of year. After Myra passed away Charlie moved to Pioneer Haven and eventually to St. Benedict’s Health Center. Charlie always provided for his family and made sure they never went without. He often spoke of the difficult times during the Depression years. Charlie loved music, reading, dancing, playing cards and going to rummage sales. In his earlier years, he enjoyed riding horse, as he moved the cows from pasture to pasture. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends. Charlie had a strong belief in the Lord and always did what was right and honest. He was a member of Eagles Club, Knights of Columbus, Farmers Union, and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Charlie is survived by his daughters, Eileen Ereth, Beverly Larson and Diane Wood; son, Charles (Carma) Fisher; grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) Dwyer, Wade (Rayanna) Larson, Melissa Rapp, Trisha Morrell, Kara (Chris) Bekooy and Megan Fisher; six great grandchildren and a sister, Emma Kadrmas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Myra; both parents; brother, Clarence Fisher; sisters, Leona Pavlicek and Claudia Thomas; sons-in-law; Lloyd Ereth, Andy Larson and Grant Wood.

Family suggests memorials be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and St. Benedict’s Health Care Center, Dickinson, ND. He was buried on 5 September 2009 at in Saint Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA.

     Claudia was born in 1922 at Stark County, North Dakota, USA. She is the daughter of Vladislav (Lyle) Frank Fisher and Anna Dvorak. She married George Thomas.

     Connie was born on 3 November 1954 at Illinois, USA. She is the daughter of George Fisher and Katherine Heck.

David was divorced from Lesley Parker on 11 August 2011 at San Diego, San Diego County, California, USA.

     Debora was born on 2 May 1957 at Laramie, Wyoming, USA. She is the daughter of George Fisher and Katherine Heck.

     Della was born in 1912 at Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA.¹ She is the daughter of Josef (Joseph) Fisher Jr. and Teresa Nadvornik.

     Edward was born in 1906 at Dunn County, North Dakota, USA. He was the son of Philip Fisher and Emma Hurich. Edward M. Fisher was buried in 1993 at in Saint Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA.¹ He died in 1993.¹

     Eileen was born at Stark County, North Dakota, USA. She is the daughter of Adolph Fisher and Frances Anna Kubas. She married Christ Dukart.

     Gordon was born on 9 November 1935 at Bowman, Bowman County, North Dakota, USA. He was the son of Hindrich (Henry) Fisher and Mildred Barta. He married Diane Kae Zersen on 2 June 1957 at Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA. Gordon was divorced from Diane Kae Zersen circa 1969 at Seattle, King County, Washington, USA. He married Virginia Bledsoe on 20 July 1973 at Kent, King County, Washington, USA. Gordon died 9 October 1998 at Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington, USA, at age 62.¹ He was buried on 15 October 1998 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington, USA.
     He was a banker in 1995 at Moses Lake, Grant County, Washington, USA.

     Hdvika was born circa 1903 at North Dakota, USA. She was the daughter of Johann (John) Fisher and Paulina (Pauline) Pavlicek.

     Hindrich was born on 13 September 1905 at Dunn County, North Dakota, USA.¹ He was the son of Johann (John) Fisher and Paulina (Pauline) Pavlicek. He married Mildred Barta on 20 February 1928 at Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA. Hindrich died 29 October 1964 at Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA, at age 59 of heart attack.¹ He was buried in November 1964 at in St. Patricks Cemetery, Dickinson, Stark County, North Dakota, USA.
     Henry was a farmer all of his life. In addition to this, he transported cattle from state to state for about 3-4 years. The business was called "Fisher Transfer". His son Geroge helped his father in the business prior to entering the military. Henry also owned a service station for about two years.
