Raymond J. Hall, 75, of Turtle Lake, formerly of West St Paul died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born December 26, 1935 in St. Paul, MN to Melvin and Louise (Monzel) Hall. Ray was raised in St. Paul, MN and graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1953.

He was married in St Paul, MN on April 26, 1958 to Joan Klarkowski.

Ray worked at First National Bank in St. Paul where he continued to work his entire career, retiring as Assistant VP in the trust department. He was very active in the West St. Paul community. Ray was president of the St. Paul Turner Gymnastics.

Ray and Joan had a seasonal home on Echo Lake for many years, becoming permanent residents in 1997. Ray served as President of the Village of Turtle Lake and currently is serving as a Village Trustee. He also was serving on the Cumberland Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Turtle Lake and was a 4th Degree member. Ray was a member of the Turtle Lake Lions Club, where he had served as treasurer. He had also served on the finance committee at St. Ann Catholic Church.

He is survived by wife of 52 years, Joan of Turtle Lake; 1 son, Mark (Ann) Hall of Maplewood, MN; 3 daughters, Katherine (Jesse Price) Balzart of West St Paul, MN, Mary (Ross) Balzart of S St Paul, MN and Colleen (Steve) Volkmann of St Paul, MN; 5 grandchildren, Karisa (Herschel Jacobson), Alex, Bailey, Conner and Dasha; 1 great grandson, Kodey; 1 brother, Robert Hall of Edina, MN; 1 sister-in-law, Pat Klarkowski of Spring Lake Park, MN and his nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, April 4, 2011 at St Ann Catholic Church, Turtle Lake, WI with Father David Lusson officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. Pallbearers are Nick Cordes, Jerry Austinson, Gary Solum, Jeff Becker, Gordon Weber and Dave Fredericks. Honorary pallbearers are Dorie Solum, Vince Ashton, Ray Goblisch, Hank Bomersine, Ron Stroschein and Dick Pringle. Military honors will be accorded by Donalds-Hylkema Post #137 American Legion of Turtle Lake. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake and one hour prior to service on Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the charity of your choosing.

Preceded in death by his beloved son, James, loving wife, Kathleen (Gormley) Hall, and dear brother, Raymond (Joan). Survived by his children, Anne (John Bush) Hall of Frankford, Ontario, Canada, Tom (Kris Wirtanen) of Plymouth, Minnesota, and John of Edina, Minnesota; his nieces, Kathryn (Hall) Price, Mary Jo (Hall) Balzart, and Colleen (Hall) Volkmann; and his nephew Mark. Bob had a wicked sense of humor, loved to travel and listen to music, and was very attached to his dogs. He had B.A. and M.A. degrees from the College of St. Thomas, St Paul, Minnesota, and was a dedicated educator with the Edina Public School District for over 30 years. Private interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Donations in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Gladys Fisher, 87, Dickinson, died of Alzheimer's on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at St. Benedict's Health Center, Dickinson. Gladys' Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Viewing will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Monday, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. She will be laid to rest at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan, on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. CT.

Gladys was born on November 11, 1925, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dickinson, to Anton and Mary (Hushka) Hanel. She attended South Heart Grade School and 2 years at South Heart High School before transferring to Model High in Dickinson. After high school graduation she attended summer quarters at Dickinson State Teachers College. She taught country school at Zalesky School & Stransky 45.

On October 21, 1946 she married the love of her life Vincent "Vince" A. Fisher at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dickinson. She remained a parishioner of St. Pat's until her death.

Gladys was employed at JC Penney, and was a long time employee of Roger Gumper Clinic which is now Great Plains Clinic. She saw many changes to the clinic in her 35 years there and made many lasting friendships. She retired in 1989.

In addition to taking care of Vince she enjoyed many hobbies. She took and taught classes for the ND Council on the Arts in Czech egg decorating and bobbin lace. She dabbled in photography, drawing, stamp collecting and genealogy. She loved her garden and flowers and was famous for her variety of Christmas cookies that she lovingly baked. Her hands were always busy.

Gladys and was active in many organizations. She was a life-time member of the Catholic Daughters, took part in many activities and was an active member of St. Patrick Church, Stark County Historical Society, the VFW Auxiliary, ND Council on the Arts, Czech Heritage Inc., and the African Violet Society. She and Vince loved to travel. They saw much of the US and took trips to the Holy Land, Rome, Czechoslovakia and other areas of Europe. As their health started to fail she always wished they would have traveled more.

Gladys is survived by her loving sister, Clara Lisko, and in-laws Joseph J. and Clara Fisher, Martha Kadrmas, special friend Martha Adcock, several cousins and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vince, her parents, an infant brother, brother-in-law Ted Lisko, also Adolf & Frances Fisher, Albert & Emma (Fisher) Dvorak, Albert & Anna Fisher, Joe J. Kadrmas & Mildred (Fisher) Kadrmas, Joe & Mary (Fisher) Maupin and George A Kadrmas.
Burial9 July 2013She was buried on 9 July 2013 in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at Mandan, Morton, North Dakota.
