Elizabeth was born circa 1806 at Port William, Mochrum Parish, Wigtownshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of William Cumming and Janet Robinson. She married James Harker circa 1840.
I have not been able to prove that William Cumming and Janet Robinson are the parents of Elizabeth. I have inferred this relationship from census records, mentions of other relationships and excerpts from letters. Until I am able to obtain a death certificate, will or other evidence, it should be kept in mind that this relationship is "assumed".

The St. James' Church, Moama, was the scene of a fashionable gathering on Wednesday on the occasion of the marriage of Mr. Arthur J. Mitchell, solicitor, to Miss Isabella McClymont, the youngest daughter of Mr. S. Cumming, of "Woodlands," Moama and Moira, one of the oldest residents of the district. The pretty little church had been most suitably and tastefully decorated for the occasion, and the invited guests included the leading residents of both towns and district, the church being crowded. Shortly after eleven o'clock the bridegroom, accompanied by Mr. F.J. Searight as best man, entered the church and took their stand before the altar railings. The bride, who was led by her father, shortly afterwards passed up the aisle, followed by her bridesmaid, Miss Cumming, her mother and brother, the choir singing the wedding hymn. The bride was most tastefully attired in white Indian silk, trimmed with lace and ribbon, and orange blossoms and veil. She also carried a beautiful bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid (Miss Cumming) wore a pretty dress of cream serge trimmed with lace and surah silk. At the conclusion of the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. C.F. Davis, incumbent of St. James, assisted by the Rev. J.C. Johnstone, Presbyterian minister, of Echuca, the bridal party left the church amidst the congratulations of their friends, Mr. C.L. Blair playing the "Wedding March" on the organ. The invited guests made their way to "Woodlands," some four miles from the township, where the bride and bridegroom held a reception, and the guests were given the opportunity of inspecting the many handsome and valuable presents sent to the happy couple. Afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Cumming entertained about 120 guests at the wedding breakfast in a large marquee. The Rev. C.F. Davis proposed the health of the "Bride and Bridegroom," which was toasted with musical honors and hearty cheers. The compliment was suitably acknowledged by Mr. Mitchell on behalf of his bride and himself, and feeling reference was made by him to the absence of his own people, who were far away in England. Mr. A.W.H. White then proposed "The Bridesmaids," in a few pleasant remarks to which Mr. Searight responded. Other toasts were "The Bride's Parents," proposed by the Rev. J.C. Johnstone and responded to by Mr. S. Cumming; "The Ladies," proposed by Mr. C. L. Blair, responded to by Mr. W.P. Miller; "Absent Friends," proposed by Mr. W. J. Martin, and responded to by Mr. Mitchell and the "Officiating Clergymen," proposed by Mr. Mitchell and responded to by the Revs C.F. Davis and J. C. Johnstone. The gathering shortly after broke up to escort Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell to the Echuca railway station, where they took their departure for Macedon, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue satin cloth, trimmed with white brocade and hat to match. The company having given a final cheer returned to "Woodlands." where in the evening a fashionable gathering again assembled, including the elite of Moana and Echuca districts and a programme of dancing was gone through to the inspiring strains of a string band.
