W. Jody Edmonson Resident of Oakland Resident of Oakland and longtime Real Estate Broker in this area died May 31 of A.L.S. (Lou Gerhig's Disease). He was cared for at home with the help of the wonderful Hospice people of Kaiser Oakland and died peacefully in his sleep. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 36 years, Corinne; and his son, Walter (Joyce) Edmonson, also of Oakland; his two stepsons, Spencer (Alecia) Larson of Moraga and Erik (Emira) Larson of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. He also leaves four grandchildren, Walter Edmonson Jr. and Natalie, Vanessa and Mateo Larson. The family members and friends who rallied around him through this cruel illness made his journey bearable and will never be forgotten. He donated his body for further research and requested any memorials be made to the A.L.S. association.
Published in East Bay Times on June 23, 2006.

     WALTER J. ELLIS, POSTAL CLERK 18 YEARS, DIED
     Walter J Ellis, 55. a clerk in the Belle Plaine post office the past 18 years, died Saturday at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague after a two-month illness with cancer.
     Mr. Ellis was born May 26, 1923 in Chicago, a son of Walter and Helen Weibeler Ellis
     He graduated From Belle Plaine High School in 1941 and served in the armed forces from1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Belle Plaine Veterans of Foreign Wars.
     Surviving are his father, Walter T. Ellis of Chicago and a sister, Anna Weiers of Arcadia, California.
     Funeral services were held Monday at Our Lady of the Prairie church with Father Hugolinus officiating. Burial was in Sts. Peter and Paul's cemetery.
     Pallbearers were Louis, Keith and Bradley Heitkamp, Otto Schmidt, Arthur Johnson and Joseph Blaha.
