TAIERI MOUTH.
July 20.— Quite a gloom has been cast over our little district by the unexpected death of one of our much esteemed neighbours, the wife of Mr Gordon Hughan. Deceased had been ailing for a few days, but no one thought it was anything very serious at the time, as there had been a lot of sickness about this district lately. Unfortunately the trouble in her case went to her head, and she was in an unconscious' state for two days, passing away about 6 o'clock last evening. The deepest sympathy is felt for the bereaved young husband and the little ones who have been left so early without a mothers care.
