     Jessie was born on 25 May 1862 at Gatehouse of Fleet, Girthon Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. (Birth Certificate).¹ She was the daughter of James Campbell and Jessie Lewis McKean. She married John Joseph Allen McAuliffe on 13 June 1892 at 76 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh, St. George District, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ Jessie died 7 March 1953 at Edinburgh, Morningside District, Scotland, at age 90. The death certificate stated that she died of a heart block for two years and cerebral arterial degeneration for two years. The informant was G. Gordon Hay, son in law.¹

He was 25 years old and she was 22. His usual residence was Knockencurr, Kirkinner and hers was Chapel Oudon, Whithorn. Jessie's mother, Helen Campbell, was deceased at the time of her wedding..¹ Jessie died 9 July 1930 at Low Blair, Sorbie Parish, Wigtownshire, Scotland. Her death certificate states that she was married to William Cumming, farmer and she died at "The Blair". She was 45 years old. Her father was William Campbell, a retired farmer. The cause of death was pulmonary tuberclosis for six years and the Informant was William Cumming, her husband.¹ She was buried in July 1930 at in Sorbie Kirkyard, Sorbie Parish, Wigtownshire, Scotland.
