John Alphonse Bosseler, 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Lakewood, Wash., on Nov. 9, 2004.

He was born on April 3, 1915, in Dutton, Mont. He lived there until attending college at Montana State University and Washington State University.

After graduating, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service until joining the Army Air Corp in 1942. He served in Europe and Korea while in the Air Force and retired after 22 years as a lieutenant colonel. He worked civil service for the Intelligence School and Army Communications at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., until retiring in 1979. He spent his retirement years in Colorado, Arizona and Washington State doing what he enjoyed - fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; their five children; 13 grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Main Chapel at Fort Huachuca, followed by the inurnment at 1 p.m.

He was buried on 3 December 2004 at in Post Cemetery, Fort Huachuca, Cochise County, Arizona, USA.

     Mary was born on 29 April 1917 at Dutton, Teton County, Montana, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Alphonse Edward Bosseler and Jennie Mae Tait. She married John Callaghan in June 1943 at Dutton, Teton County, Montana, USA.¹ Mary died 21 February 1947 at Riverside County, California, USA, at age 29 in a car accident.^1,2
     Mary attended the University of Montana and earned a Bachelor of Science degree (1938) in Physical Education. She attended Montana State College and was awarded a BS degree in nursing in 1943. She was employed as a teacher and nurse.

     Mary was born on 27 July 1958 at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, USA.¹ She is the daughter of John Alphonse Bosseler and Maria Heinz. She married Mark Koenig on 27 September 1980 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA.¹

     Paul was born on 14 August 1965.¹ He is the son of John Alphonse Bosseler and Maria Heinz.

     Robert was born on 10 June 1943.¹ He is the son of Houston Alphonse Bosseler and Valerie Lapeyre.

     Steven was born on 23 March 1957 at Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, USA.¹ He is the son of John Alphonse Bosseler and Maria Heinz. He married Laura Mattausch on 7 January 1978 at Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA.¹
