Alexander had marriage banns to an unknown person published on 11 December 1834 at Kirkmabreck Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.² He married Elizabeth Rae on 23 December 1834 at Balhasie, Creetown, Kirkmabreck Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. Church of Scotland.² Alexander died 29 July 1897 at Cardegrwn, Wigtown, Wigtown Parish, Wigtownshire, Scotland. On his death registration it stated that he was a crofter. He died of gangrene of leg and foot for four months. The informant was R. Nay, his son.³

DEATH.
M'Kay.— At West Taieri, on the 17th inst , Mary M'Kay, wife of Gordon Hughan, aged 75 years.


     Mary immigrated to Taieri Mouth, Otago, South Island, New Zealand on the Gil Blas in in 1855.²

She married Alexander Fitzgerald Stewart at the farm of John McNay, on 19 June 1940 at McKillop Township, Huron County, Ontario, Canada. Anne died 19 November 2001 at Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada, at age 95.
     Anne was employed as a homemaker at North York, York County, Ontario, Canada.

     Annie was born on 13 April 1845 at Creetown, Kirkmabreck Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of John (McNae) McNay and Isabella Muir. She was christened into the Church of Scotland on 13 June 1846, at Kirkmabreck Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.¹ She married James McClearie on 17 June 1864 at Gatehouse of Fleet, Girthon Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland.² Annie died an unknown date .
     Annie was employed as the servant of William and Margaret Gordon at Fleet Street, Gatehouse of Fleet, Anwoth Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, on 8 April 1861.³
