Agnes H. (Mrs. Joe W.) Kostelecky, 93, Dickinson, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at St. Benedict's Health Center, Dickinson.
A Mass of Christian burial for Agnes is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2007, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with the Rev. Austin Vetter as the celebrant. Interment is in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.
Visitation is from 1-9 p.m. today at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Agnes H. Lisko was born on Jan. 21, 1914, to Anton and Mary (Fisher) Lisko in Dickinson. She was educated in the Dickinson schools and worked for some time at Scheeler?s Hardware and Grocery in south Dickinson in her younger years.
Agnes married Joe W. Kostelecky on June 19, 1933, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, and they were blessed with 54 years of marriage. Joe went to his eternal father on June 22, 1987.
Agnes was a jail matron for the Stark County Jail from 1949 to 1954, assisting her husband, who at the time was the sheriff of Stark County.
She was a long standing, loyal and faithful member of the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Patrick's Church and school and a charter member of The Ministry of Praise.
Agnes lived a very full and active life. Her priorities were her family, church and prayer, and she made absolutely certain that persons that stopped in to visit were treated with home style hospitality and had enough to eat. Usually a spirited game of cards followed. She loved the card game of bridge, especially the bid of "no trump" and often winning high point in her later years with players a generation or two younger.
Agnes is survived by her four children, Donald J. (Lucy) Kostelecky, Dickinson, Jolyn McCue, Billings, Mont., Judy (Terry) Hager, Grand Forks, and Geri Glazer, Louisville, Colo; two sisters, Anne (Orville) Narum and Mary (Ernest) Bailey, both of Dickinson; brother, George Lisko, Dickinson; two sisters-in-law, Clara Lisko, Bismarck, and Bertha Lisko, Dickinson; 12 grandchildren, Shannon, Michael, Deborah (Steve), Ken (Cheryl), Cathe (Ron), Deidra (Dean), Dan (Penny), Tim, Lisa, Mark, Amy Jo, Laura, Ryan (Tiffany), Mariah, Jordan and Dylan; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Isadore, Ted, Adolph, Anton and Edwin; sisters, Mildred and Philomine; an infant daughter, Margaret Ann; and son, Gerald. (Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson).

DECATUR - Gordon Ross Lloyd, 89, died April 9, 2010, in Sarasota, Florida. He was born February 28, 1921 in Huron, South Dakota, son of Walter Ross and Jessie Ewart Lloyd. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1938, attended Washington & Lee University and graduated from Millikin University in 1942. He served in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific in World War II. He married Susan Troup Uran on August 22, 1942. He was Treasurer and co-owner of the Benson Creamery Company. He served on the Board of Directors of The First National Bank of Decatur, Millikin University, Decatur Memorial Hospital, The Decatur Country Club, The Decatur Club, United Way and the Kiwanis Club of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother, and is survived by his daughters Lucy (Scott) Murphy and Jane (Gary) Wright, of Decatur, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 17 at the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur. Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to The Community Foundation of Decatur/ Macon County.
His funeral was held on 17 April 2010 at First Prebyterian Church, Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, USA.
