Married Dec 25, 1860 Henry McCall Sission and they afterwards resided on the Sission farn two miles north of Galesburg. He died May 29, 1905. They had six daughters and two sons.

This obit was copied from a newspaper and published by the Knox Co Genealogical Society.1

Funeral services for Helene M. Zersen (nee Ming), 91, of Walworth, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Libertyville. Born Feb. 28, 1913, in Chicago, she died Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Williams Bay, Wis. Interment will follow the services in Ivanhoe Cemetery. Helene is survived by her son, Kenneth (Anna Marie) Zersen of Conover, Wis; her daughter, Sharon Zersen Ketterhagen of Fontana, Wis; her grandchildren, Keith (Heidi) Zersen, William and Lynn Ketterhagen; her great- grandchild, Andrew; and by her brother, Robert Ming of Onalaska, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Zersen; and by her grandchild, Kimberly. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kristan Funeral Home, 219 W. Maple (Route 176), Mundelein, with a wake service at 7:45 p.m., and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday, at the church.
