A TERRIBLE accident happened on Tuesday to Miss Mary Hughan, about 17 years of age, daughter of Mr. Thomas Hughan, of Taieri Beach. While engaged over a fire, her clothes caught, and although she strove her very utmost to extinguish the flame, was frightfully burnt on the lower part of the body, hauns, and forearms. Dr. Reid has done all in his power for the sufferer, but cannot as yet speak definitely as to result.
